Brewers Magic: The Wonder Food

When ever people reach a hundred, they are often asked what it is that has enabled them to reach the magic age. Some people reach it and they might be as good as dead. Oddly enough, most of the people that I have seen who have reached a hundred years of age, also seem to have some life in their wrinkled bodies.

Many centenarians put their longevity down to living a good simple life. The one thing I remember the most is the number of men who have said they put down their good health throughout the years to having their porridge ever morning. They are not talking about that instant porridge that tastes like the baby food Farex. As you would expect, the porridge these studs eat is the rolled oat variety that takes a little time to cook.

Discussions I have had in the past have resulted in me being told there is real long-life benefit in porridge. There is no magic formula. However, there is also something else which many of these long living people often forget to tell you. Not only do they eat porridge, but they often put brewers yeast on top to give it some flavor. "A couple of table spoons of brewers does wonders for the porridge", an energetic seventy-five year old Scotchman told me once.

Brewers yeast might be the secret to a healthy long life. This is because brewers yeast has a massive amount of goodness in it. Not all brewers yeast is exactly the same but you will find that by have a couple of tablespoons of brewers yeast every day on your porridge, you will be putting a lot of goodness in your bodies. Some people even call it natures wonder food.

Typically, you will be providing yourself with the following vitamins and minerals Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, pyridoxine, Biotin, Folic Acid, Calcium, Iron, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Sodium, Potassium, as well as these amino acids: Alanine Arginine Aspartic, Glutamic, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Cystine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Threonine, Serine, Tryptophan, Tyrosine, Valine.

Brewers yeast is not called natures wonder food for nothing. People take calcium for their bones and wonder why their bones still get worse. Modern medicine has caught up with nature and realize that without magnesium, calcium does not go into the bone, but is more likely to form kidney stones. Brewers yeast contains both calcium and magnesium.

Vegans can help themselves by having a couple of tablespoons of brewers yeast every day. Most vegans lack sufficient protein in their diet. Brewers yeast has not only the eight essential proteins, but also arginine that is required for the young and histidine which some people are known to be unable to synthesize in their bodies.

Another great feature about brewers yeast is it contains vitamins B1, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9. These all work together and are even provided in varying proportions in breakfast cereals to promote a healthier diet. But there is nothing like what comes in brewers yeast on top of porridge, if you like the taste.

There is one very important mineral in brewers yeast that is considered critical for excellent health. This is chromium. Insufficient chromium and you will end up with diabetes. Chromium is the key that opens the door and lets glucose into the cells. This is probably why brewers yeast is indeed a wonder food.
